Miles started his career as a commercial leasing manager with Grubb & Ellis in New York, but his interest in marketing and sales training soon led him to the "Motivational Mecca" of Southern California. Once there, Miles spearheaded marketing efforts for the nation's largest celebrity event promotions company, the SUCCESS Conferences. As Director of Advertising and Community Relations, he filled mega-events across the U.S.

Perhaps inspired by the speakers he promoted, Miles went underground to pursue his M.B.A. in Marketing & Entrepreneurship from the University of Oregon. Upon graduation, he took the Director of Business Development job for direct response agency, K Dunn & Associates. Fancy degree and direct experience in hand, Miles then returned to New York to become VP of Sales and Marketing for eBrick.com, a custom publishing company, working with clients like GE Capital, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs.

Before co-founding Smith Brothers, Miles served as Director of Business Development for TMP Worldwide, the world's largest direct marketing/ yellow pages agency, where he worked with tiny no-name clients like Bank of America, Terminix, United Van Lines and Monster.com.

Miles has a BA in Psychology and Economics from Denison University and an MBA in Marketing & Entrepreneurship from University of Oregon.
